Effective date: July 10, 2026 · These Terms replace all earlier versions.
Welcome to steelandstud.com (the “Site”), operated by Carports and More, Inc., an Arkansas corporation doing business as Steel and Stud (“Steel and Stud,” “we,” “us”), operating since 2004. These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) govern (a) your use of the Site and (b) every quote, reservation, order, delivery, and installation of our metal carports, garages, barns, RV covers, commercial buildings, and DIY building kits (the “Products”). By using the Site, requesting a quote, or paying a deposit, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Return Policy, and Shipping & Installation Policy. If anything here conflicts with a signed order document, the signed order document controls.
Plain-English summary (not a substitute for the full Terms): you reserve a building online or by phone; a specialist confirms your final price; you pay a deposit (typically 10%–30%) by phone; you can cancel within 3 days of order confirmation for a full deposit refund; after that, deposits convert to a 3-year credit (custom-sized-unit deposits are non-refundable); the balance is paid to the manufacturer’s crew after installation is complete and you’ve inspected the structure; you prepare the site and pull any permits; lead times are estimates, with a lead-time refund guarantee if we run more than 14 days past your quoted window without a documented force-majeure cause.
1. Who we are
Carports and More, Inc. d/b/a Steel and Stud, an Arkansas corporation, 105 Cullen Hills Dr, Bella Vista, AR 72715, USA. Phone 1-877-275-7048 (Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM Eastern), email info@steelandstud.com (orders: orders@steelandstud.com). We are a supplier, dealer, and installation coordinator: buildings are manufactured and installed by our regional manufacturing partners across the 48 contiguous United States.
2. Quotes, pricing, and product information
- State-based pricing. Prices vary by installation state (pricing zone). Prices shown on the Site are estimates until confirmed by a specialist for your delivery address.
- Pricing transparency. Displayed Carport Builder pricing is the total turnkey price for a standard installation — it excludes applicable state/local sales tax, optional certified engineered plans, mobile-home/helical anchors where required, and build-over fees (each quoted before your deposit is processed). If your address falls outside the standard service area, we will contact you with corrected pricing — including any freight surcharge — before your deposit is processed.
- Quote validity. Written quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued, unless the quote states otherwise. Steel is a commodity: after your quote expires, prices may change without notice (including manufacturer steel surcharges).
- Errors. We work hard to keep the Site accurate, but typographical, pricing, and configuration errors happen. We may cancel and fully refund any order affected by an obvious error before production begins.
- Images and 3D previews. Product photos, renderings, and 3D-designer previews are illustrative. Actual colors vary with lighting, screen settings, and manufacturer batch; minor dimensional and trim differences from renderings are normal manufacturing practice.
- Certified vs. non-certified buildings. Carport Builder prices are for standard (non-certified) buildings. Wind/snow-rated (“certified”) buildings meet the stated engineering ratings only when installed on an appropriate foundation with certified anchoring per the engineered plans. Custom certification packages are available up to manufacturer maximums; pricing scales with state load tables and structure size. Non-certified buildings carry no wind or snow rating. No building is warranted to prevent collapse from snow or ice accumulation — see Section 8.
3. Ordering and reservations
- How ordering works. The Site’s cart and checkout create a reservation, not a completed purchase: no payment is collected online. A building specialist contacts you to confirm your configuration, delivery address, final price (including any surcharges), and estimated lead time, and collects a deposit — typically 10%–30% of the order total — by phone. Your order confirmation serves as your deposit receipt, and your order is processed within three (3) business days of the confirmation email and submitted to manufacturing.
- Your reply is required. Your order cannot be scheduled for installation until you reply to the order confirmation; once received, your order is forwarded to the scheduling department.
- Accuracy. You are responsible for the accuracy of the configuration, measurements, colors, and delivery address you approve.
- Revised orders. Changes after approval may require an additional deposit or a processing fee: if a revision increases the order cost, an additional deposit is required; if it reduces the cost, the difference between the original and new deposit is applied as the processing fee (see the Return Policy).
- DIY cold-formed kits. Kit pricing includes engineered plans and load calculations. Delivery (to your jobsite or pickup at the nearest factory) and optional professional installation are priced separately and quoted per project. Self-installation is allowed, and in most (not all) states a 5% discount is available for self-installed orders. Plans and calculations are delivered after deposit; the balance is due before shipping.
- Order acceptance. All orders are subject to acceptance by us and the manufacturer serving your area. We may decline or cancel (with a full refund of amounts paid) orders we cannot serve — for example, addresses outside the service area described in the Shipping & Installation Policy.
4. Payment
- Deposits by phone only. We collect deposits by phone through our specialists. We never collect card details through the Site, and we will never email you asking for card numbers. Accepted for deposits: all major credit cards, ACH, and PayPal (PayPal for deposits only; a ~2.9% processing fee applies, and PayPal payments must clear before installation).
- Balance. The remaining balance is paid to the manufacturer’s installation crew after installation is complete and you have inspected the structure on site. Accepted for the balance (varies by manufacturer): cash, certified check, money order, or major credit card. PayPal is not accepted for balances.
- Financing and rent-to-own. Monthly financing and rent-to-own paths are available for qualifying customers; applying does not affect your credit until approval. See Financing Options. Financing and RTO agreements are between you and the provider.
- Title and ownership. The completed structure remains the property of the manufacturer until the balance is paid in full.
- Rescheduling and non-payment. If you cannot accept an offered installation date, the lead-time clock restarts. If the balance is not paid when due, installation completion, warranty service, and ownership transfer may be withheld and unpaid amounts referred for collection.
5. Cancellation, changes, and refunds
The full rules are in our Return Policy and Shipping & Installation Policy §12. The matrix:
| When you cancel | What happens |
|---|---|
| Within 3 days of the order confirmation date | Full refund of your deposit. Request must be in writing to orders@steelandstud.com |
| After 3 days, before plans are sent | Deposit may be applied as credit toward another Steel and Stud building for up to 3 years from the original order date |
| After plans are sent | Deposit becomes non-refundable if a permit is denied for reasons unrelated to the plans themselves |
| Within 72 hours of a scheduled installation | Non-refundable; a return-trip fee applies if the site is not ready or you are unavailable |
| Custom-sized units | Deposits are non-refundable |
- Installation delays are not a valid basis for cancellation — instead, the Lead-Time Refund Guarantee applies: if we exceed the upper bound of your quoted regional lead-time window by more than 14 calendar days without a documented force-majeure cause (severe weather, manufacturer plant closure, government order), you may request a full deposit refund in writing to orders@steelandstud.com.
- Customer reschedules restart the lead-time clock.
- No returns of custom-manufactured goods. Buildings and kits are made to order to your specification and cannot be returned once manufactured; the cancellation rules above and the damages/defects and warranty terms below apply instead.
6. Delivery, installation, and site preparation
Governed by the Shipping & Installation Policy. The essentials you agree to:
- Coverage. Delivery and professional installation are included free for tubular steel buildings within the 48 contiguous states (no P.O. boxes; a physical installation site is required; oversize structures — wider than 40 ft or longer than 60 ft — may carry a freight surcharge in remote ZIP codes, quoted before deposit).
- Site preparation is your responsibility: a pad level within 2–3 inches of true level across the footprint (the installation includes a 6-inch riser at the bottom rail; legs may be cut or raised within this tolerance); at least 4 feet of open clearance on every side; access for a pickup truck towing a 20-ft equipment trailer; permits, zoning, and HOA approvals secured before ordering; and buried-utility marking — call 811 at least 3 business days before installation.
- If your site isn’t ready on install day, the crew may either install “as-is” with documented limitations (you waive leveling-related warranty items) or reschedule as a priority, in which case a return-trip fee applies (billed by the crew before reschedule). Extra fees may also apply for build-overs, mobile-home/helical anchors (required in several states for units enclosed on three sides on ground/gravel/grass/asphalt; minimum four anchors), and cut-leg adjustments on unlevel pads.
- Utilities. We and the installation crews are not liable for damage to unmarked private underground lines.
- Scheduling. After your deposit clears, the manufacturer typically places a welcome call within ~14 days; you may then not hear anything until 1–4 business days before installation — this is normal. A photo of your prepared site is required before installation is scheduled, and the lead-time clock starts when the photo is received.
7. Permits and code compliance
All zoning, setback, height, and permit requirements are your responsibility and must be confirmed before ordering. Generic engineered plans are available in most states for a fee; custom certified plans are required in certain jurisdictions and always required in CO, ID, MT, ND, NE, SD, UT, and WY (quoted before order). Once plans are sent, deposits are non-refundable if a permit is denied for reasons unrelated to the plans themselves. We and the manufacturer do not guarantee that a foundation or installation you commission from others will pass inspection.
8. Warranties and disclaimers
- Product warranties (summarized on our Warranty page; the warranty documents supplied at installation control): 14-gauge frames — 30-day workmanship warranty; 12-gauge frames — 30-day workmanship warranty plus a 20-year limited rust-through warranty (normal use and maintenance assumed); 29-gauge roof, side, and end panels — manufacturer warranty per the document supplied at installation; certified-plan structures — wind/snow load performance per the certified package.
- Inspection and claims. Walk the structure with the lead installer before the crew leaves and note visible workmanship issues on the completion form on the day of installation. Report concealed issues within 30 days of installation to orders@steelandstud.com (order number, photos, brief description) or 1-877-275-7048.
- Out of scope: damage from severe weather events (covered by your property insurance); damage from unmarked buried utilities; damage arising from build-overs of customer-supplied structures; cosmetic wear from normal environmental exposure.
- Snow, ice, and wind. No product is warranted or guaranteed to prevent collapse under snow or ice load; keeping the roof clear of accumulated snow is the owner’s responsibility. Wind/snow ratings apply only to certified buildings anchored per their engineered plans.
- DISCLAIMER. EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY STATED IN THE APPLICABLE WRITTEN WARRANTY, THE PRODUCTS AND THE SITE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS,” AND, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Some states do not allow limits on implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you; you may also have specific rights that vary by state.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: (a) WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST USE, OR COSTS OF SUBSTITUTE STRUCTURES); AND (b) OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM ANY ORDER IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID FOR THAT ORDER. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW (INCLUDING FOR GROSS NEGLIGENCE, WILLFUL MISCONDUCT, OR PERSONAL INJURY WHERE PROHIBITED), AND SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO PARTS OF THIS SECTION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
10. Using the Site
- License. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive license to use the Site to browse, design, and order Products. Don’t scrape, copy at scale, interfere with, probe, or misuse the Site, and don’t submit false quote requests.
- Your submissions. If you submit reviews, photos, or testimonials, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use them (with your first name/city attribution) in our marketing; you confirm you own them and they’re accurate. We may decline or remove any submission.
- Intellectual property. The Site, our brand, photos, renderings, plans, and content belong to us or our licensors. Engineered plans provided for your order are licensed for your project only.
- Third-party tools. The 3D designers (Sensei 3D, ACT Building Systems, Easy Building Designer) run on third-party platforms under their own terms; designs and estimates produced there are non-binding until confirmed by a specialist. Estimates shown in designer tools (including “$0” placeholders) are not offers.
- Communications. By submitting a quote or contact form, you ask us to respond about your project by email and live phone call, as described in our Privacy Policy §9. Consent to marketing is not a condition of purchase.
11. Disputes and governing law
- Talk to us first. Email orders@steelandstud.com — for unresolved scheduling issues, put “ESCALATION” in the subject line with your order number; we monitor that flag within one business day.
- Governing law & venue. These Terms and any dispute arising from them or an order are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, without regard to conflicts rules, and the state and federal courts located in Benton County, Arkansas have exclusive jurisdiction.
- Time limit. Any claim must be brought within one (1) year after it accrues, where permitted by law.
12. General
Force majeure (severe weather, manufacturer plant closures, government orders, supply-chain and labor events beyond reasonable control excuse delay); assignment (you may not assign an order without our consent; we may assign to a successor); severability; no waiver; entire agreement (these Terms + your order documents + the policies linked above). We may update these Terms prospectively by posting the new version with a new effective date; the version in effect when you place an order governs that order.
