Steel and Stud (Carports and More, Inc.) wants every customer to be able to research, design, and order a metal building — regardless of ability. We are working to conform steelandstud.com to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and we treat accessibility as ongoing work rather than a one-time box to check.
What we’re doing
- Working toward text alternatives for meaningful images and a logical heading structure on our most-used pages.
- Working to keep forms usable by keyboard and properly labeled for assistive technology.
- Reviewing color contrast in our design system against WCAG AA targets.
- Reviewing new templates and features for accessibility as part of our QA process, and prioritizing fixes on the pages customers use most.
Known limitations
- Our 3D building designers are hosted by third-party providers (Sensei 3D, ACT Building Systems, Easy Building Designer) and may not be fully accessible. Everything the designers do can also be done with a specialist by phone.
- Some legacy pages and documents may not yet meet WCAG 2.1 AA.
